Cindy's Book Review: 13 Treasures by Michelle Harrison

13 Treasures by Michelle Harrison.
Book Summary: You don't always have to see to believe.
Though her mother cannot see the evil fairies that rouse Tanya from her sleep, torturing her at the slightest mention of their existence, they are as real to the thirteen-year-old as anything she's ever known. If she could wish them away, she would, but instead it is she who is sent away -- to live at her grandmother's secluded countryside manor.
There is much to explore and even more to fear in the woods surrounding the estate. But the forest isn't the only source of dark secrets, and Tanya soon finds herself entangled in a mystery that could trap her in the fairy realm forever.

Cindy's Summary: 13 Treasures is a book about fairies or includes fairies in them. Apparently, those who have second sight, able to see fairies and other mythical creatures, are passed down from generations as recessive traits, so it skips generations. Your family would only have second sight if someone up your family tree has been switched, as in someone was stolen to the fairy realm and a child of a fey replaced he/she. Anyways, Tanya's grandma has second sight and when Tanya's grandma, Florence was young, she had a best friend named Morwenna Bloom, who also had second sight and was overprotected. So Morwenna and Florence planned to go to the fairy realm to be immortal and to leave their family behind. Florence, later on backed out, so Morweena went alone and got stuck there. Tanya, thinking Morwenna is innocent, tried to get Morwenna out, but she didn't know that that was Morwenna's evil scheme to make Tanya trade places with her, so she can get out.

I actually think the name Morwenna is kind of pretty, despite that Morwenna is evil. Liana told me this was kind of creepy. It kind of was, but it's not scary at all. Too bad there's no romance, besides, Fabian's, the son of the caretaker of Florence's mansion, grandpa, Amos, who fell in love with Morwenna and kept a lock of Morwenna's hair which had some of Florence's in it and is used as a pact. Destroy the pact, then Morwenna gets stuck in the fairy realm forever, growing old. But I do not want Fabian and Tanya falling in love. They don't really match each other. For real. So maybe just be adventure buddies.

It was okay. Not the best book I ever read. No romance and such.

Okay. Moving on to the quotes.
" 'Don't be such a Mizhog.' "
That actually sounds...IDk. Maybe I should use it to Liana.

Warwick
Er....nice name? Sounds like he's from Star Wars or something. LOL.

" 'Foolish cretin! Stupid fool! Trust you to break that simple rule.' "
I didn't know why I laughed at this but haha , goblins talk in rhyme?

"...looked equally flabbergasted."
I don't know. I'm just interested in the word. It's unique and no one really uses it....except Fabian....JK.

"...dripping with sarcasm."
I like the author's choice of words.....I feel like stealing them. LOL. But I don't have any announcement of writing a book yet.

There wasn't much quotes I found in this story, but these are the few that caught my eye. ;D
